first weekend of the new year
We played a lot this weekend. And watched movies. And cleaned up! But mostly I feel like playing and spending time with each other was how we spent the bulk of our first weekend in the new year. I made the effort to get all Christmas decorations packed away, and was even able to get it ALL back into the attic! Let’s just say that in year’s past the boxes MAY OR MAY NOT have sat patiently in our guest room for another week or two. ;-)
Along with the cleanup and attempt to get the house back in order, it felt like a good time to set up Boyd’s play spaces and toys in a little bit different way. I am a fan of rotating toys every few weeks. Not just because it keeps our house from feeling like a giant playroom, but it really does seem to keep toys feeling new and worth exploring for Boyd. In the same way it appears that rearranging the play areas is also adding some new room for exploration. So, after a lot of tv/movie watching the last few weeks it was much needed to play more and get outside some.
